More Hoodia Facts
Here is some information I pulled off the net that you may find interesting:
1. Hoodia is expensive. It runs $330 USD per kilogram (kg)
2. It is found only in the wild in South Africa
3. It grows in tempurates of 122F, and takes 4-5 years to mature
4. After getting a patent in 1995 on hoodia, the South African government licensed p57 to Phytopharm
5. Hoodia works by releasing a chemical compound similar to glucose, but is 100,000 times more powerful
Also I have been made aware of some hoodia scams going around that I want to make you aware of so you don’t get caught:
1. Websites in SPAM emails are always offering fake pills, they can’t afford the real thing
2. Hoodia PATCHES can not contain enough chemical to release into your blood. Patches don’t work
3. Stay away from companies that say Hoodia is a DIET pill. It’s NOT! It only HELPS. It will not do all the work for you.
There will be no Hoodia gordonii harvested from South Africa from September 2006 to April 2007. What this will mean is that with the exception of a couple of the bigger names in Hoodia who have stocked supplies that the sale of authentic Hoodia in the USA will come to a grinding halt. Make sure to check CITES to ensure companies are offering the REAL thing. Fake companies will pop up left and right while the supply is down.
