The gym can help with weight loss

I have discovered how much the gym can help with weight loss. I have a pass to 24 hour fitness (there are some in Canada, but most are across the USA) that I use from time to time however lately I have been going more frequently.

I go on an Elliptical machine for 30 minutes on the medium program which gives me some hills but a lot of average. I can burn about 500 calories in that time if I push VERY hard. 350 if I am working it but not struggling. The time out of my day is about 1 hour after I shower, drive there drive back and get on the machine. All in all it is worth it. I eat about 2500 calories a day and if I burn 500 that’s a HUGE chunk burned off. It can lead to pounds every week. With the right diet, exercise program and weight loss pill / diet pill you can be on your way in no time.

You don’t have to kill yourself on an exercise machine - just work out. The cost is next to nothing ($30 a month) and the benefit goes beyond weight loss. Working out stimulates your body and mind. You’ll sleep better and be more awake the next day. It’s worth every second, trust me!

Weight Loss is never easy

Many people claim that weight loss is easy and painless. They claim that their wonder drug or pill will make it seamless and many diets claim you can “eat whatever you want” and lose weight. Think about it, if you go on the chocolate cake diet, do you think you’ll lose or gain weight? It’s not hard to discover you’d gain weight in a hurry.

I write the information I give you by hand. There’s no professional writer behind my fingers. My experiences come from my life.

When I was 17 I weighed a massive 310lbs. I made it my goal throughout the next 2 years to drop my weight to 200 even. When I got there I would be happy and would stay there. When I turned 19 I weighed in and I was 205lbs. I stopped there because I looked great, felt great and I ate great. I saw no need to go the extra 1% just because I set that goal. Sure everyone wants to reach something but I NEVER thought I could get where I got to.

Over the next several years I put on 25 more lbs bringing me to 230. I then made it my goal to drop the 30 again, however this time it was a lot harder. I fell into bad habits and because I was in my 20s I was now working full time and have no time to go to the gym for hours a day and eat right. I was on the run and had to eat quick. I turned to herbal supplements and weight loss pills and drugs. Nothing worked and it drove me up the wall!

I recommend Hoodia Rush because I used it while I lost 30 pounds. I used it every day to help me stop craving food. I admit it I LOVE food and eating, it’s my favorite thing to do. I needed something to help me and after trying dozens of products only I recommend Hoodia Rush actually worked. That’s why I always push it to you. Try it out, hundreds of my readers already have. Here’s someone who did:

hey thanks so much for telling me about hoodiarush, I tried it for 2 months and it helped me lose 42 pounds. I read all the time about nutraslim and diet drugs and all sorts of stuff and i’ve tried it all and nothing worked. hoodiarush worked because it just stops me from wanting to eat all the time. thanks!! - Bruce in Lake Forest California

I don’t fill you full of BS. Hoodia Gordonii actually works and will help you lose weight. I have nothing to gain here and you have everything to gain. Trust me, try it out and if it doesn’t work you can get your money back and come call me a liar. I know you’ll love it though!

Weight Loss Tips

Stevia rebaudiana- Stevia, known as “sweet herb”, this plant is 25 times sweeter than sugar when made as an infusion with 1 teaspoon stevia leaves to 1 cup of water. Two drops of this infusion equal 1 teaspoon of sugar in sweetness.

It is safe for people with diabetes as it is does not change blood glucose levels. It does have a bit of an aftertaste you need to get used to. In South America and the Orient a product derived of stevia called Stevioside has a 41% share of the food sweetener market.

There are some healing benefits of stevia as well.

Stevia is known to help regulate blood sugar, helps to lower high blood pressure, aids in weight loss by decreasing the desire for sugary foods. Some people even report that it reduces their desire for tobacco and alcoholic beverages. Stevia is also used in facemasks to smooth out wrinkles and heal skin blemishes and acne. So why don’t we see more of it? Apparently the import of stevia was heavily influenced by Nutrasweet politics.

I think this is a good product. I actually bought a stevia plant from Wal-Mart for my herb patch. It was fun to grow and see what I was actually providing for my clients in tincture and powder form. It’s and annual plant and grows quite well. You harvest the leaves just as the flowers bloom, dry them, and then use them in teas, or crumble them up and use them in cooking. I don’t know yet how to use it in baking, but when you can’t have sugar… you probably shouldn’t be eating baked goods anyway!

You can get stevia drops or packets in your local health food store.

Weight Loss 2007 - 2 days in

How are you doing so far? Have you weighed in?

Weight Loss Tips:
- Experts agree that you should weigh yourself once per week, considering weight fluctuates on an hourly basis. You should make a habit of picking a day and a time to weigh and always do it at that time. Even wearing the same clothes will help give you a true number.
- Drink water. Replace that coffee and soda with a water. We all love pop/soda but we have to give it up on the diet. It helps get rid of your sweet tooth.
- Walk for 20 minutes per day. Instead of watching a terrible re-run of “Everybody loves Raymond” go outside and take a walk. It doesn’t need to be intense it doesn’t need to be painful. Just take it easy and get some fresh air. RAIN OR SHINE! Remember rain doesn’t melt you.
- Do a few pushups and situps. Again nothing intense. Just curl 10-20 if you can and push 5-10. It helps. Every week increase 1-2 until you’re rocking 100 pushups a day!
- Pop that Hoodia!

That’s all I have for now, just trying to help you along. Let’s lose some weight in 2007!

Thinking of Surgery for Weight Loss?

Obesity surgery helps severely obese people lose weight by reducing the size of the stomach, by bypassing a portion of the body’s digestive system, or a combination of these procedures.

But the American Obesity Association warns that the surgery does have potential risks. Here are some factors to consider on the association’s list of possible complications:

* Nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain from overeating.
* Gastrointestinal fluids leaking into the abdominal area.
* Restrictive bands slipping out of place or eroding.
* Restrictive staples detaching or eroding.

Feel good about yourself

Regardless of how sad or cynical this may sound, truth is we’re living in a world that has always used looks to hastily judge a person instead of waiting for actions to be performed and thoughts to be voiced. The world is not a fair place. Those who look better get to enjoy more perks and amenities than others. They get asked out and invited to nice parties. They rise faster to the top because everyone, men and women, likes to see a pretty face and a shapely body around. Smart people can still climb the social and professional ladder, but it’s far easier for somebody who got lucky at birth and came into the world with a fair face and a body, or someone who works hard to keep in shape and be at a good weight, to die for.

First impressions are crucial. Today, we meet more and more people and trust less and less of them. Socializing and work put us in contact with persons from other parts of our towns, other cities or other countries. It’s a huge world and we get to know it on a personal basis by meeting a lot of people. That’s why we have to make a good first impression and the same goes for people who meet us. They are under the same pressure as we are. That’s why it really pays to look good. Looks can get one safely through a first meeting and if one can talk without putting one’s foot in one’s mouth, then success will be pretty easy to come by. The fools and the ugly will envy any such person, but that comes with the territory. I hate to be blunt, but being overweight in today’s society IS UGLY and that looks negative in all facets of your life.

Don’t get me wrong. Most people are able to understand what others feel and what kind of heart others have, but the first impression, the one that sometimes makes or breaks a relationship. Everyone knows that what’s inside is what actually matters, but everyone relates first from the outside and that’s a fact. Looks can help friendships a lot and good looking people find it easier to spark a conversation with strangers. Also, people feel more at ease around a good looking person, which is why such people get high visibility jobs in the media and film industry. Fact is we all want to look good, regardless of how we feel inside. If you feel good and look good, good things will come to you. It’s a real simple statistical fact.

Things to avoid during weight loss

Dieting is not always easy. In fact, it can prove a tough challenge for many people. So here’s a little guide to avoiding things that could make you lose control and start eating. Avoid them like plague if you wish to succeed.

1. Don’t rush into the toughest diet you can find.
This is a frequent mistake. Many people decide in a moment of desperation to follow a super-strict diet and fail. Don’t rush into a diet that may be too strict for you. If you don’t have any dieting experience and are not 100 percent sure you can stick with the diet, then choose something else.

2. Don’t lose touch with reality.
You can’t realistically expect things to happen over night. When choosing your goal, start small, but be prepared to go far. If you hear someone saying that he lost a large number of pounds in a short time, don’t make it your goal to match his performance. Diet results are different from one person to another.

3. Don’t go to the gym too often
Another common mistake is to use the enthusiasm of the first days to hit the gym every day. This won’t help you at all. Your body needs time to heal and expand the muscle mass after each training session and going to the gym every day interferes with this natural process. Besides, a week of non-stop training could never offset ten or twenty years of couch potato lifestyle.

4. Don’t get hard on calories.
We all know that cutting down on calories is one of the building blocks of all diets, but you have to be careful about it. Cut down on too many calories and your body will start storing anything it possibly can. This is not a good way to lose weight.

5. Don’t skip meals!!!
Some people think that skipping one or two meals could help them lose weight faster. They don’t understand that dieting is all about eating the right food and not starving yourself. If you skip meals, your body STORES MORE FAT. This causes you to maintain weight. Skipping meals will not cause weight loss, EVER.

6. Don’t check the bathroom scales everyday.
Everybody is eager to see the confirmation of his or her efforts in the shape of lost pounds, but you should not let this drive you to checking your weight everyday. The daily fluctuations of your weight will soon have you depressed and ready to quit dieting. And this is something you want to avoid.

7. Don’t let emotions drive you.
Aside from the eagerness that drives people to check their weight every day, there are other emotions that influence dieting. If you know you’re used to reaching out for ice-cream or snacks when you are bored, frustrated or angry, then you should deal with these issues and not allow them to come between you and your purpose.

8. Don’t refuse to seek help.
Not everyone was born with iron will and nerves of steel. If you need advice or help, don’t hesitate to ask it from your friends or from professionals. Don’t try to solve all problems by yourself.

9. Don’t deny yourself your favourite foods.
Treats are a great way of raising your willpower and determination. Diets are just food control methods, not prisons. So what if you eat something forbidden once in a while, especially if that food is a favourite of yours? If such treats are not frequent, then they will make no difference in the long run.

10. Don’t rely on your willpower alone
Use your head as well. If you wish to know how much you eat, then write everything down and analyze the list for things that should not be there. Sometimes hunger creeps up on you and make you eat something you shouldn’t. Be honest with yourself and keep a clear head.
