15lbs in 5 weeks

So through hard work and my regular workout routine I have lost 15lbs. That is perfect because I have a wedding to go to and now when I get refitted I will be down a size. That really gets me excited considering I have been working hard but I have been eating what I usually eat. I haven’t gone on a weight loss diet so much as I have gone on a weight loss binge. Working out and taking my hoodia gordonii has ensure that I am losing weight.

I eat the same but I eat less thanks to the Hoodia. I can continue to work out at the same pace. So if I eat 2000-2500 calories a day and burn about 600 on the elliptical then I am going to lose weight, it’s simple math.

So my test is done. In just over a month I have dropped 15lbs without changing my diet. All I did was do some basic cardio and take some Hoodia!

The gym can help with weight loss

I have discovered how much the gym can help with weight loss. I have a pass to 24 hour fitness (there are some in Canada, but most are across the USA) that I use from time to time however lately I have been going more frequently.

I go on an Elliptical machine for 30 minutes on the medium program which gives me some hills but a lot of average. I can burn about 500 calories in that time if I push VERY hard. 350 if I am working it but not struggling. The time out of my day is about 1 hour after I shower, drive there drive back and get on the machine. All in all it is worth it. I eat about 2500 calories a day and if I burn 500 that’s a HUGE chunk burned off. It can lead to pounds every week. With the right diet, exercise program and weight loss pill / diet pill you can be on your way in no time.

You don’t have to kill yourself on an exercise machine - just work out. The cost is next to nothing ($30 a month) and the benefit goes beyond weight loss. Working out stimulates your body and mind. You’ll sleep better and be more awake the next day. It’s worth every second, trust me!

Visitor Questions

Okay here are some emails I have received lately and my answers. If you want to email me just visit my contact link:

Do you think this new product Proactol actually works? Have you heard of anyone using it?

Proactol isn’t actually new, it has been around for awhile. And yes I have heard some great feedback about the product. I have been trying to get enough feedback together to make a review out of it and try it myself, I just haven’t had time. Click Here to visit Proactol

What works best, low carb diets or what?

You know this really depends on your own physical characteristics and what you can handle eating on a daily basis. Low carb worked for me but not everyone is the same. Some people go vegetarian, some people cut out the veggies. I recommend mix and matching your own diet simply by following CALORIE intake and making sure to take supplements.

Slow emails lately, send some more! That’s all I have for now.

Weight Loss is never easy

Many people claim that weight loss is easy and painless. They claim that their wonder drug or pill will make it seamless and many diets claim you can “eat whatever you want” and lose weight. Think about it, if you go on the chocolate cake diet, do you think you’ll lose or gain weight? It’s not hard to discover you’d gain weight in a hurry.

I write the information I give you by hand. There’s no professional writer behind my fingers. My experiences come from my life.

When I was 17 I weighed a massive 310lbs. I made it my goal throughout the next 2 years to drop my weight to 200 even. When I got there I would be happy and would stay there. When I turned 19 I weighed in and I was 205lbs. I stopped there because I looked great, felt great and I ate great. I saw no need to go the extra 1% just because I set that goal. Sure everyone wants to reach something but I NEVER thought I could get where I got to.

Over the next several years I put on 25 more lbs bringing me to 230. I then made it my goal to drop the 30 again, however this time it was a lot harder. I fell into bad habits and because I was in my 20s I was now working full time and have no time to go to the gym for hours a day and eat right. I was on the run and had to eat quick. I turned to herbal supplements and weight loss pills and drugs. Nothing worked and it drove me up the wall!

I recommend Hoodia Rush because I used it while I lost 30 pounds. I used it every day to help me stop craving food. I admit it I LOVE food and eating, it’s my favorite thing to do. I needed something to help me and after trying dozens of products only I recommend Hoodia Rush actually worked. That’s why I always push it to you. Try it out, hundreds of my readers already have. Here’s someone who did:

hey thanks so much for telling me about hoodiarush, I tried it for 2 months and it helped me lose 42 pounds. I read all the time about nutraslim and diet drugs and all sorts of stuff and i’ve tried it all and nothing worked. hoodiarush worked because it just stops me from wanting to eat all the time. thanks!! - Bruce in Lake Forest California

I don’t fill you full of BS. Hoodia Gordonii actually works and will help you lose weight. I have nothing to gain here and you have everything to gain. Trust me, try it out and if it doesn’t work you can get your money back and come call me a liar. I know you’ll love it though!

Weight Loss with Hoodia 2007

Hoodia Gordonii and Hoodia weight loss products have been picking up steam lately. I went into Costco the other day and what do you know, they were sampling a hoodia DRINK. I was pretty amazed at how mainstream this is getting. In looking at the people that were sampling it, they were not even overweight. I think that the majority of people who try weight loss products are actually middle sized people who simply want to tone up their bodies. A lot of severely overweight (or obese) people don’t seem to even know that they are that overweight which is unfortunate. The large women and men walking past didn’t even look and they had a cart full of nuts and candy.

I think a lot of it has to do with income. I heard a statistic that the most overweight people that wouldn’t consider a product like hoodiarush are very low income and even on welfare. They eat fast food and are content with their self image. I am not sure I understand the psychology of it but I can understand if you can’t afford a supplement you may not feel weight loss is in your grasp.

That’s why products like Hoodia Rush exist. They are inexpensive and they work. I strongly recommend it for all of your needs.

Any updates on your 2007 weight loss plan? I have been doing terribly, I will admit. I am hovering around the same weight since February and I am starting to think I need to start working out to kick it up a notch.

FDA Releases first approved drug

The first nonprescription drug to treat obesity in American adults was approved Wednesday by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The drug, called alli (orlistat), is designed to be used only in tandem with a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet by overweight adults aged 18 and older. According to manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline, the drug helps people lose 50 percent more weight than dieting alone, should cost consumers $12 to $25 a week, and is expected to be available by this summer.

“This is the only FDA-approved, over-the-counter weight-loss drug product,” Dr. Charles J. Ganley, the FDA’s director of the Division of Over-The-Counter Drug Products, said during a teleconference. “There are some products, primarily dietary supplements, that make weight-loss claims and those are not FDA-approved, although they are permitted to make these claims.”

The drug will be available in 60 milligram capsules, to be taken three times a day with meals that contain fat. The company said the drug works by “blocking about 25 percent of the fat in food a person eats. Because of the way it works, alli must be used in conjunction with a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet containing about 15 grams of fat per meal.”

Eating a meal with too much fat while taking the drug can result in bowel changes such as loose stools, according to the FDA. These side effects typically occur in the first weeks of treatment, they aren’t harmful, and can be managed by following the recommended diet of about 15 grams of fat per meal, GlaxoSmithKline said.

It’s also recommended that users take a multivitamin once a day, at bedtime, because the drug can interfere with the absorption of some vitamins, GlaxoSmithKline said.

People who have had an organ transplant shouldn’t take the drug. And anyone taking blood-thinning medicines or being treated for diabetes or thyroid disease should consult a physician before using the drug, the FDA said.

“This drug is only going to be effective if it’s used along with a weight-loss program,” Ganley said. “That means a reduced-fat diet, decreased calories and an exercise program.”

“If someone uses the drug without a weight-loss program, it’s not going to be very effective,” he added.

A higher dose of orlistat (120 milligram capsules) has been marketed as the prescription drug Xenical in the United States since 1999.

While the company claims Xenical’s safety has been demonstrated by nine years of worldwide use in 146 countries, the consumer-advocacy group Public Citizen last year petitioned the FDA to remove Xenical from the U.S. market.

Public Citizen contended that the higher-dose drug might increase the risk of aberrant crypt foci, which are widely believed to be precursors to colon cancer.

Late Wednesday, the advocacy group issued a statement criticizing the FDA’s approval of the over-the-counter version of the drug.

“At a time when colon cancer is a leading cause of death and disease in the United States, the Food and Drug Administration’s decision to approve, for over-the-counter use, a diet drug that clearly causes precancerous lesions of the colon is the height of recklessness and shows a profound lack of concern for the public’s health,” Dr. Sidney M. Wolfe, director of Public Citizen’s Health Research Group, said in the statement.

One obesity expert isn’t sure the new OTC drug will be effective for most people.

“The drug is probably safe,” said Dr. Raj Padwal, an assistant professor of general internal medicine at the University of Alberta. “However, I’m not sure the half-strength dosage will have much effect.”

Full-strength dosage reduces weight by less than 3 kilograms (6.6 pounds), on average, Padwal said.

“People may only lose 1 to 2 kilograms (2.2 to 4.4 pounds) on this half-strength dose. Whether that is worthwhile is questionable. The occasional patient may benefit, but many patients may not. For those patients who need extra incentive to adhere to a low-fat diet, the drug may help,” Padwal said.

Padwal and a colleague recently published an article in The Lancet that noted precious little evidence exists that proves weight-loss drugs such as orlistat actually reduce the risks of heart attack, stroke and diabetes associated with being overweight or obese.

The FDA’s approval of the first over-the-counter drug for weight loss comes as the United States and other western nations are struggling with an unprecedented obesity epidemic.

According to the U.S. National Center for Health Statistics, 30 percent of American adults 20 years of age and older — more than 60 million people — are obese. And another 36 percent are considered overweight.

Overall, this drug is likely to be limited in the direct harm it causes, but also in the good it does, said Dr. David L. Katz, an associate professor of public health and director of the Prevention Research Center at Yale University School of Medicine.

“It is a relatively ineffective weight-loss aid,” he said. “If availability of the drug distracts people from the tried-and-true approach to weight control, eating well and being active, then the FDA decision could prove more harmful than helpful, in spite of good intentions.”

Weight Loss Tips

Stevia rebaudiana- Stevia, known as “sweet herb”, this plant is 25 times sweeter than sugar when made as an infusion with 1 teaspoon stevia leaves to 1 cup of water. Two drops of this infusion equal 1 teaspoon of sugar in sweetness.

It is safe for people with diabetes as it is does not change blood glucose levels. It does have a bit of an aftertaste you need to get used to. In South America and the Orient a product derived of stevia called Stevioside has a 41% share of the food sweetener market.

There are some healing benefits of stevia as well.

Stevia is known to help regulate blood sugar, helps to lower high blood pressure, aids in weight loss by decreasing the desire for sugary foods. Some people even report that it reduces their desire for tobacco and alcoholic beverages. Stevia is also used in facemasks to smooth out wrinkles and heal skin blemishes and acne. So why don’t we see more of it? Apparently the import of stevia was heavily influenced by Nutrasweet politics.

I think this is a good product. I actually bought a stevia plant from Wal-Mart for my herb patch. It was fun to grow and see what I was actually providing for my clients in tincture and powder form. It’s and annual plant and grows quite well. You harvest the leaves just as the flowers bloom, dry them, and then use them in teas, or crumble them up and use them in cooking. I don’t know yet how to use it in baking, but when you can’t have sugar… you probably shouldn’t be eating baked goods anyway!

You can get stevia drops or packets in your local health food store.

Some healthy eating tips

How Do I Stick to a Healthy Diet?
Enjoy food and practice moderation

Food is one of life’s greatest pleasures. All foods, if eaten in moderation, can be a part of a healthy diet. If your favorite foods are high in fat, salt, sugar, and calories, limit how often you eat them, but don’t cut them out entirely. Eat smaller servings, eat them less often, or look for healthy substitutes. The key to a healthy, balanced diet is moderation. Eat a wide variety of foods, especially those high in nutrients, such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy products, fish, lean meats, and poultry.
Find creative ways to add fruits and vegetables to meals

* Add apple chunks, pineapple, and raisins to tuna salad.
* Add lots of colorful vegetables, such as red cabbage, carrots, and spinach, to green salads. Top with orange, nectarine, or grapefruit slices.
* Add green, red, or yellow pepper strips, carrots, cucumber, and broccoli to a pasta or potato salad.
* Add vegetables to pizza and sandwiches, and add fruits to yogurt and cereals.

Make healthy choices when eating out

There are usually healthy options at every restaurant, even at fast-food places. The type of restaurant you choose can help you make healthy choices. Ethnic restaurants, such as Indian, Thai, or Japanese, have lots of healthy dishes on the menu. A vegetarian restaurant will obviously have more vegetable choices than a drive-through burger stand. However, most fast-food chains are now offering more low-fat or healthier choices on the menu.

If you eat out a lot, try the following:

* Order a veggie pizza with a whole-wheat crust or add lots of veggies to your pepperoni. Order a veggie pizza with grilled chicken instead of sausage or pepperoni. Ask for less cheese on your pizza.
* Order a pasta with roasted vegetables, grilled chicken, or marinara sauce. Avoid cream-based sauces.
* Order a vegetable or grilled chicken wrap.
* Order vegetable soup if available.
* Choose a variety of vegetables from a salad bar.
* Order foods that are broiled or poached rather than fried or breaded.
* Cut back on butter or margarine used on bread. Better yet: dip bread in olive oil instead.
* Order sauces, gravies, and salad dressings on the side so you can control how much you use.
* Share appetizers, desserts, and even entrées with your dining partner.
* Ask for salsa with a baked potato instead of sour cream, butter, cheese, or bacon.
* Order a child’s portion or take half of your meal home.
* Order the smallest portions at fast-food restaurants (don’t be tempted to take the big meal at a reduced price); opt for salads or a broiled chicken sandwich (skip the mayonnaise and cheese).

Weight Loss 2007 - 2 days in

How are you doing so far? Have you weighed in?

Weight Loss Tips:
- Experts agree that you should weigh yourself once per week, considering weight fluctuates on an hourly basis. You should make a habit of picking a day and a time to weigh and always do it at that time. Even wearing the same clothes will help give you a true number.
- Drink water. Replace that coffee and soda with a water. We all love pop/soda but we have to give it up on the diet. It helps get rid of your sweet tooth.
- Walk for 20 minutes per day. Instead of watching a terrible re-run of “Everybody loves Raymond” go outside and take a walk. It doesn’t need to be intense it doesn’t need to be painful. Just take it easy and get some fresh air. RAIN OR SHINE! Remember rain doesn’t melt you.
- Do a few pushups and situps. Again nothing intense. Just curl 10-20 if you can and push 5-10. It helps. Every week increase 1-2 until you’re rocking 100 pushups a day!
- Pop that Hoodia!

That’s all I have for now, just trying to help you along. Let’s lose some weight in 2007!
